A majority of AEGD programs are one year programs. Some programs offered additional advanced training for a two year residency. AEGD programs focus on dental procedures with an emphasis on providing comprehensive dentistry.
Questions to Ask AEGD Programs: 1) Do students in your program matriculate into specialty programs? If so, which programs? 2) Do you have an emphasis on cosmetic procedures and implantology? 3) Are attendings with advanced training in endodontics, prosthodontics and periodontology available for consultations? Do they employ the latest techniques in their treatment planning? 4) Who would be my direct supervisor?
